The Street, Chestnut Hill’s outdoor shopping and events center, is rapidly turning into a fitness enthusiast’s dream. Complete with places to grab healthy eats and squeeze in a good sweat, the area is welcoming one more fitness power house to the neighborhood—Peloton.

Swinging its doors open on May 2, the newest Peloton showroom in the area will allow prospective buyers to test out a bike or treadmill. You will also be able to ask questions and receive a personalized tutorial of the machines before buying. The Peloton bike is much like one of those fancy spin bikes you might find in a Soul Cycle class. The difference? It comes with a 22″ touchscreen displaying up to 14 daily live rides, thousands of on-demand rides, and even challenges and leaderboards, plus more. It’s like having easy access to a spin class without all the people. And, even better, without ever leaving your home. You can book a time to try a bike at the showroom on the Peloton website.

The Street also offers a wide variety of other fitness offerings, if biking isn’t your thing, like Yogaworks, Barry’s Bootcamp, and soon-to-be Forme Barre. And for after? Settle into Tender Greens for a nutritious meal or grab a juice or smoothie from Juice Press to refuel.

“The Street is known for its superior selection of health and wellness options,” Alana Frey, general manager of The Street, said in a release. “We are thrilled to welcome another leader in the industry. Peloton is changing the perception of at-home fitness. It meets the needs of our fitness-minded shoppers who are always hungry to experience the latest workout trends.”

And Peloton isn’t the only company capitalizing on fitness junkies’ need for workouts anywhere at anytime. Hydrow, a Boston-based rowing machine that has an interface much like Peloton’s, hosted a pop-up at Copley Place. And Regatta Fitness, a fitness filming studio out of Beacon Hill, is offering virtual rowing classes you can hook up to any Concept 2 rower.

Boutique fitness is not just for swanky studio spaces anymore. You can enjoy the luxury of top-notch fitness from virtually anywhere now.
