The best way to try a fitness studio without fully committing to a five-pack of classes, or a full blown membership, is to partake in a sweat crawl. Similar to a bar crawl, but different, you’ll be trading in beer flights and pizza for burpees and a swag bag full of things like protein powder and supplements.
If you live in the South Boston area, or better yet if you don’t, get a little taste of the local fitness scene in the area with this Sweat Crawl on May 18. The day includes 30-minute stops, interspersed with 30-minute breaks for commuting, at three different fitness studios. Participating studios include Lifted Fitness, Radiant Yoga, and C2 Pilates.
Here’s what to expect:
1 p.m. Check-in
1:30 p.m.-2 p.m. Studio One
2 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Travel time
2:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Studio Two
3 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Travel time
3:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Studio Three
4:30 p.m. After-party
Check-in and after-party location are still TBD.
Lifted Fitness is a small strength training space located right on Summer Street. With a large turf and squat racks lining the wall be prepared to lift some heavy things up and set them back down. And you might also have to push a pretty heavy sled the length of the turf. You’ll then work through some pilates sequencing at C2 Pilates, also on Summer Street. Don’t be afraid to hit it hard with the weights and the machines because you’ll close out the day by settling onto a yoga mat at Radiant Yoga on East 2nd Street. But don’t worry, we’re not trading in all aspects of a bar crawl—there will be beer and snacks at the after-party to celebrate all your hard work.
Priced at $35, taking advantage of events like these will only do good things for your fitness routine. Not to mention, most high-end fitness boutiques in the city charge that much for just one class (i.e. Soul Cycle). During this, you’ll get to hit three.
