The Greenway Fitness Series Returns to Boston This Summer

With over 130 free workout classes ranging from Zumba to lunchtime Vinyasa yoga.

Break out your excel spreadsheets and oversized desk calendars. To fit in all the free outdoor fitness classes offered throughout Boston you’re going to need a strategy, divide and conquer style.

The Greenway Fitness series is finalized and underway and it’s looking pretty stacked. The series includes a lineup of more than 130 free classes from Zumba to lunchtime Vinyasa yoga and being so centrally located, it’s the perfect excuse to skip out of the office for some vitamin D and a solid sweat.

It’s also not a bad excuse to swing by the Trillium Beer garden or the City Winery wine garden for post-workout drinks. Could it get any better than that?

Here’s what to expect:

Tai Chi by Wang YMCA, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., June 3-July 29, Chinatown Park
High intensity interval training with Healthworks, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., July 8-August 26, Atlantic and India Streets

Cornhole with Social Boston Sports, 5:45 p.m.-6:30 p.m., sessions vary, Atlantic and Milk Streets

Lunchtime Vinyasa by Body Lingua Yoga, 12:15 p.m.-1:15 p.m., July 10-August 28, Oliver and Atlantic Streets
Self-Defense with UFC Boston, 5 p.m.-6 p.m., select dates, Dewey Square
High intensity interval training with Innercity Weightlifting, 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., select dates, Atlantic and India Streets
Summer Shred by Next Level Fitness, 6 p.m.-7 p.m., September 4-September 25, Cross and Sudbury Streets

Yoga-lates by Age Strong Commission, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., May 26-September 23, Hanover and Cross Streets at North End Park

In addition to reoccurring classes all summer long, the series also includes select one-time fitness events. These include events like Summer in the City by North End Yoga, Goat Yoga with Healthworks, and Yoga and Brunch with Yoga Around Town. There will also be spin events, a sweat crawl, and an Orangetheory Fitness camp.
