The year of the rooster is coming to an end, but Roosters Men’s Grooming Center, is here to stay. The high-end barbershop just opened their highly-anticipated second location in Beacon Hill.

The original opened in 2014, at the corner of Tremont Street and Berkeley Street. Owned and operated by South End resident Tyson White, (who offered Boston Magazine some grooming advice in 2015), White plans on continuing the Roosters tradition of a classic, generational barbershop experience at the new location.

“My grandfather and my grandmother ran their own barbershop, and it really was a family experience,” says White. “Their customers would even come over for family dinners. It’s this closeness that we try and emulate here at Roosters.”

The wait for the Roosters on Charles Street has been a long one, but White wanted to make sure he found the perfect spot. Signature Beacon Hill style is emulated in the shop’s tin roof and wooden booths. “We try our best to capture the uniqueness of the neighborhood,” says White.

White has employed six expert barbers specifically for the new location. He makes sure every Boston Roosters employee is not only a great barber, but someone with charisma and stories to tell their clients.

“We create a long-term relationship with our clients, which is why I look for a barbers that are artists, who know that the person they are working on is their canvas,” says White.

Services at Roosters include The Roosters Club Cut, the Professional Hero Cut and always, The Complimentary Neck Trim. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments can be made online or through the app.
