Critics say this city has no style. We’re here to prove them wrong. Welcome to HubThreads, where we chat with the most stylish people we find out and about in Boston. Think you or someone you know has the best street style? Let us know.
How would you describe your style? A minimalist, but with some streetwear expression. It’s developed over time, I used to really be the preppy type. I still go back to that for sure, but within the past year and a half, I’ve worn my favorite jackets and a t-shirt with some really good jeans, boots and a nice watch. I wear a lot of hats, so either a fedora or a cap, but I make sure it’s all put together really well. I never want to look like I try too hard, I want to be comfortable. I usually get away with what I do. My personality is so down-to-earth and super chill and I want my style to be inviting as well.
Hats can be a hard thing to pull off. I was actually going to wear my fedora today, but I left it in the car! Honestly, if you’re consistently doing something, and people don’t believe in you, but you’re putting in the work, the results will show. I think it’s the same with fashion, if you put something on and you feel good it in and you keep doing it, then everyone will be like, that’s dope, it’s you.
You’re launching your own clothing line, right? Its still in ideation mode right now, but its gonna be called Paul Rameau, after my dad. He was a creative, really into artistry and carpentry and was very expressive. I think that translated into how he dressed. He was always a lot more buttoned up than me, but he was always made sure to take his time to get dressed and feel good in what he was wearing. He passed away from multiple myeloma in 2016. But even during stage four cancer, he was still doing the things that he loved. I consider him my version of a renaissance man, so my brand is encouraging others to live their best life despite what they’re going through. There will be a lot of wardrobe essentials with streetwear expression, so his classic type of wear with my more laid back style. It’s something I’m really excited about.
