Photos: Safari in the City Live Auction & Charity Gala

Check out scenes from May 4, 2019, event at American Rhino Lodge.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, American Rhino hosted their first annual Safari in the City Live Auction & Charity Gala, where they raised $150,000 for the American Rhino Foundation. Guests were donned in their best “safari chic,” including notable attendees like Sam Kanter – Owner of Sam Kanter Events and Dinner at Mary’s, Cheryl Fenton, and Carrie Wu and Bianca Palumbo. Each enjoyed a lavish evening of flavorful fare, including an oyster bar from Culinary Director Nick Dixon and his team at Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar. Attendees sipped on signature libations, enjoyed bidding and dancing to Boston’s uncut Funk, Soul and R&B band Mo Bounce.

The $150,000 raised in funds goes directly towards the AR foundation and its mission to fund and assist the most local and affected areas in Eastern Africa. This supports the American Rhino team ahead of their participation in the 31st Annual Rhino Charge, a charitable off-road competition in Kenya which further helps raise money for wildlife conservation, with a goal to raise between $7,500 and $15,000 minimum per team. Lucky bidders walked away with auction items like a 10-day Kenyan safari, backstage pass tickets to Dave Matthews Band, trips to Paris, Yellowstone National Park, the Dominican Republic, and so much more!
