Commen Mistake


At this juncture, mocking upstart commuter daily BostonNOW is like kicking a diseased, redbone hound. Still, hound-kicking—if done in moderation on the right specimens—offers certain undeniable pleasures. So here we are.

The text supporting today’s “Reader Photo” on page 2 contains not one but two egregious errors. The photo is a pedestrian snapshot of the Hancock Tower (technically Hancock Place) standing against a partly cloudy sky (clearly not taken yesterday). The text: “Ron Philips took this photo of the Hancock Building as seen from Commenwealth Avenue.” What, Ron couldn’t have made the trek down to Fenmore Square and gotten a shot of the University of Boston? ARGH.
