The T Finally Adresses Our Needs

1190217669Every Bostonian has an emergency plan. Not one of those goofy terrorist color-coded emergency plans, but a mental map of every public bathroom they know of when the urge to go cannot be ignored. The Starbucks where the key is accessible without buying a latte, the semi-clean facilities by the day-old baked goods at Shaws, and so on. Now Cantabs have four more options for bladder relief, and they’re not new Dunkin Donuts locations.

The Cambridge Chronicle reports that the MBTA will open restrooms at the Central, Harvard, Porter, and Alewife stops on the Red Line to ease the bladders of the public:

The restroom hours are expected to be the same as the T stations hours — Monday through Saturday, 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Those who want to use the restrooms will have to ask a station attendant to open it for them.

This is great news. Thank you MBTA. No, really.
