The Brides Are Running Again

1190828453The Running of the Brides returns! But this time, you can leave the brass knuckles at home. The Altered Bride boutique on 376 Boylston St. adopts the sale idea (except with a more “civilized” tone) tomorrow from noon-8 p.m., and continuing until all gowns are gone.

We’re sorry to report that with the sale, the owner of the respected Back Bay bridal boutique, Roseanna Martino, is also stepping down. After 17 years and several Best of Boston Awards, Martino is celebrating her retirement from the Altered Bride as it transfers ownership.

While the Downtown Crossing Filene’s Basement closing may have left many brides standing at the altar wearing David’s Bridal when they could have donned designer, ladies present for tomorrow’s Altered Bride bargains will snatch up one of Martino’s unique silhouettes made of luxurious silks, organza, chiffon, and embroidered English netting. The store-wide sale includes the full inventory of dresses at the store, originally priced from $1700-$4000, now reduced to $300-$900.

Enlist your bridal party mafia tonight to hunt down the gown of your dreams tomorrow. And if you do spot “the one,” clutch it ‘til death do you part. But in a nice way.
