Tom Brady: Designer

1192032897Boston Daily loves expensive things. We also love Tom Brady. You can imagine our delight when Movado announced the Limited Edition Movado Series 800™ Tom Brady Automatic Chronograph. Mom, we know what we want for Christmas!

Tony Kornheiser isn’t the only one with a man-crush on Brady. In a press release, Movado’s president gushes about the Patriots QB:

“Movado is very proud of our association with Tom Brady,” says Jeff Cohen, President of Movado Worldwide. “He is one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the NFL and embodies everything that Movado Series 800 stands for: timing, innovation and a commitment to excellence.”

What makes the watch so excellent? It depends on the model you choose to purchase.

. . . [The] Performance Steel™ style with black or silver dial, presented on an XTremeResin™ strap reinforced with genuine KEVLAR® – the first strap of its kind in the Movado Series 800 collection. . .

That sounds impressive, until you read about the top-of-the-line model:

. . . [C]rafted of solid 18K rose gold, featuring an alligator strap. Only 12 of the 18K rose gold timepieces were made. Each is individually numbered to signify its position within the edition, and comes with a limited edition box and a certificate of authenticity signed by Tom Brady and Efraim Grinberg, President and CEO of Movado Group.

The Limited Edition Series watch goes for $20,000, while the Movado Series 800 is a relative bargain at $2,500. And no, guys, buying Brady’s watch will not help you land a supermodel.
