Jacques Pépin. Jacques Pépin. It’s really fun to practice your over-the-top French accent with the name of the renowned chef, and tonight all your hard work pays off. He prepares and hosts a special dinner to raise money for the Jacques Pépin Fund for Scholarship in the Gastronomy Program and the Elizabeth Bishop Wine Resource Center at Boston University.

After a week of cool temperatures and the debut of non-stop Christmas carols on the radio, we were pretty excited by the Frog Pond Opening Celebration. Unfortunately, today’s monsoon-like rains have postponed the rink’s 2007 debut.

Since we can’t get our skate on tonight, we’ll have to go shopping. The Best of Boston Shopping event features all our favorite stores in one location. We’ll be sure to tell you if you look fat in something. But in a nice way.
