The Green Line Strikes Again
Ever since we moved to Boston, we’ve made a lot of jokes about the slowness of the Green Line. We could walk to our destination faster. We’d be nervous about getting hit by the trolley, but it’s moving so slowly we’d only get a bruise.
Apparently, that last one isn’t true.
Service on the Green Line was temporarily suspended this morning after an MBTA employee was hit by a trolley.
The employee was struck at about 10:20 a.m. about 350 feet west of Reservoir Station, near the border between Brookline and Boston. The employee was “conscious and alert when transported to the hospital,” said Joe Pesaturo, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
We’re sorry about those jokes we made. Please don’t hurt us, Green Line.
