Do NKOTB Got the Right Stuff?

1201636030Yesterday, we were delighted to report that New Kids on the Block was planning a reunion tour. It brought up all kinds of traumatic childhood memories, those first crushes on non-threatening (except Donnie!) young men, and the need to dig through the boxes of childhood belongings we left at our parents’ house.

Alas, it may have all been for naught. One member of NKOTB refutes the rumors.

Despite the huge success of reunion tours by the Police and the Spice Girls, NKOTB member Danny Wood posted a MySpace blog yesterday saying if there was a tour, he didn’t know about it.

“I wanted to address the rumors of the NKOTB Reunion Tour. There has been no talk of this and you are getting it from source directly,” Wood posted from Miami, where he’s working on his new album, “Coming Home.” Wood added: “Never say never, and you can’t believe everything you read.”

We had to see the post with our own eyes, since we can’t believe Danny would ever break our hearts. We went to his MySpace blog, and can’t find the post mentioned in the Names column.

What we did find was this:

I wanted to clarify since my first post this morning regarding the NKOTB reunion. I loved being a part of the group, and have always thought “maybe someday we’ll get back together” – you just never know when your someday will come. I can guarantee all the fans that if this reunion were to happen, they would hear about it first on www.NKOTB.com.

Don’t play coy with us, Danny. We read the news about the House of Blues opening a 2,500-seat venue on Lansdowne Street. Just put the tickets on sale for early next year and we’ll start drafting the slogans for our t-shirts. (“Joey Gives me a Mac Attack” and “Mark Who? Donnie’s my Wahlberg” are our current favorites.)
