The Writer’s Strike Is Over, and It’s Time to Party

1202920632Boston Daily is happy it’s an election year. Not only because we’re huge dorks, but because the endless parade of pundits on the news channels has distracted us during the writer’s strike. Instead of our regular diet of Friday Night Lights or 30 Rock, we’ve been left with Moment of Truth and American Gladiators.

Thankfully, our long national nightmare is over. Not only will we get our weekly Tina Fey fix once more, but it means that Boston Rocks the Oscars will go off without a hitch.

The event is the only one in Massachusetts that is officially sanctioned by the Academy. Partygoers will show their hottest red carpet looks, pose with a real Oscar statue, and will dine on an upscale menu prepared by Green Olive Catering while watching the ceremony on the Hard Rock Cafe’s plasma screen televisions.

Channel 5’s Susan Wornick and David Brown will emcee the event, and Academy Award winning writer/actor/director Ernest Thompson will be in attendance. Additional celebrity VIPs will be there, though their identities have yet to be revealed. The proceeds will go to the Ellie Fund’s “Care for the Caregiver” program, which provides transportation and other services to cancer patients and their families throughout Massachusetts.

Boston Daily will rock our most glamorous frock for the event and will report back. Now we’ve really got to see There Will Be Blood.
