Your Afternoon Democratic Nomination Update
As Thursday afternoons go, this one was looking pretty slow until news broke that Barack Obama raised $55 million in February! Oh, and Michigan has a plan for a caucus to replace the non-vote it had in February. Florida’s dreaming up a plan too.
Did we mention that Hillary Clinton‘s communications chief Howard Wolfson called the Obama camp’s demand for Clinton’s tax documents a “Ken Starr” tactic?
Will the drama never end?
Well, no, it doesn’t seem like it will. With the Pennsylvania primary still almost seven weeks away, it’s becoming more and more clear that the Dems don’t actually have an exit strategy in place, and as the Times‘ Gail Collins pointed out today, all this unrest may make the party uneasy, but it’s great for the Civics geek within us all.
