Jim Ogonowski: Closest Without Going Into the Red
We here at Boston Daily are big fans of The Price is Right. (With Bob Barker. We just can’t warm up to new host Drew Carey.) On the rare morning we manage to catch the game show, we pride ourselves on our ability to guess the price of a tube of toothpaste without going over.
Perhaps Jim Ogonowski should head to California in the hopes of being summoned on down. The failed senatorial hopeful was just $51 away from ending the second quarter with a loss.
Jim Ogonowski. . . reported just $51 cash on hand at the end of the second quarter after spending over $80,000 on political consultants during his campaign, according to the Federal Election Commission.
Ogonowski dropped the huge chunk of change on political consultants in the hopes they would help him raise huge quantities of money to fight his Democratic challenger (presumably John Kerry) and get out the vote.
But guess how much Ogonowski spent on his signature collecting operation?
A mere $1,923.
Don’t feel too bad for the farmer from Dracut. At least he’s not this poor bastard.
