The Occupy Boston Bill We All Get To Foot: $1 Million and Change… and Counting. Those police overtime hours don’t exactly come for free, you know — nor does the Dewey landscaping. So far according to Channel 5 “Boston police estimate the protest cost about $1 million to patrol; transit police said they incurred $25,000 in overtime costs; and the Greenway Conservatory say it will cost $40,000 to $60,000 to clean up Dewey Square.” These numbers will only go up as protesters take to their various alternatives.
