Newt Gingrich Calls Mitt Romney ‘Some Liberal from Massachusetts.’ The self-anointed, “legitimate heir of the Regan movement” pulled out his fightin’ words over the weekend. Gingrich’s statement is important for two reasons: 1. He said these words in a strip-mall parking lot in Florida; and 2. He’s shifted from calling Romney a “Massachusetts moderate” to calling him, flat-out, a “Massachusetts liberal.” [Slate]
