Boston University’s video tutorial on how to do laundry, aimed at incoming freshmen, would be insulting if it weren’t almost certainly necessary for most clueless incoming college kids. Actually, even if they secretly don’t know how to do laundry, learning from a sock puppet while surrounded by their new peers during some orientation event is probably still pretty mortifying. Can’t we just let them call their mothers in shame two months into school while wearing a bathing suit because they’ve finally run out of underwear and can no longer justify just buying new pairs and they’re not sure which one is the washer and which is the dryer and STOP LAUGHING MOM THIS IS SERIOUS! … Why mess with tradition?
