New Parking Reservation App Could Expand to Boston. Drivers can now reserve a space in one of more than 20,000 parking spots, thanks to Baltimore-based app Parking Panda. Branson, a German Shepherd certified in patrol as well as explosives and ballistic detection, “beat out several other less attractive dogs” for a spot in the Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog calendar, according to the Boston Police Department. Vest-A-Dog is an organization that provides training, bulletproof vests, and other protective gear to police dogs, but only the handsome of the handsomest clinch a spot in the calendar, an annual fundraiser for the organization.  [BPD]
