Valentine was reading a text from Dustin Pedroia when he crashed and landed near the Central Park Reservoir on Tuesday, according to the New York Times. “I shouldn’t have been reading a text while I was riding, ” he said. “That’s the wrong thing to do. But at least I was wearing my helmet.” He sustained injuries to his knees and hips, which quite possibly can be classified as less serious than what everyone else had to suffer through this season.  [NYT]
