MTV Cribs: Curt Schilling Edition
On this episode of MTV’s Cribs: Athletes Who’ve Lost Just … So Much Money Edition, we’ll be featuring Curt Schilling, whose Medfield home is reportedly up for sale with an asking price of $3.45 million. The home, which he bought from Drew Bledsoe in 2004 for $4.5 million and for which he once asked $8 million before taking it off the market, sounds quite nice. From the listing:
Extremely private 26 acre estate with every amenity for formal entertaining, relaxed family gatherings and sports enthusiasts … Once inside the complex there is a heated pool with waterfall, sports court, beach volley ball court, batting/pitching cage and putting green. … The two main floors have over 7,000 square feet and the walk out lower level has over 4000 square feet with home theatre, full wet bar, billard area, sauna, exercise room, wine room, hot tub and dog grooming area.
Among Schilling’s financial hits in recent years, the one he’s taking on his home investment is relatively small. He’s said he expects to lose $50 million investing in 38 Studios, the video game company he founded. (More on that fiasco here.) As for his future living plans, maybe he’s down-scaling. You know, some place without a “dog-grooming area”?
