At 2:49 p.m., the crowds at the finish line held a moment of silence to remember last year’s bombing victims, after which they resumed cheering for this year’s runners as loudly as possible. / Photo by Olga Khvan

The 2014 Boston Marathon is one of the biggest in the race’s history with record numbers of participants and spectators expected to attend this year. As athletes made their way along the 26.2 mile route, we had folks manning all parts of the race—from the Wellesley Scream Tunnel to the finish line near Copley Square.
