The Dropkick Murphys canceled a show in Tulsa on Sunday night after their tour bus reportedly hit and killed a man who ran in front of the vehicle, according to the band’s Facebook page.

In a post online, band members told fans that they wouldn’t be making it to their next gig due to the fatal accident. They said they were leaving a show in San Antonio, headed to the airport to drop off one of their members who needed to return to the Boston area, when a man allegedly ran across the road in the direct path of the tour bus. The accident occurred just north of Austin, they said.

“We were involved in a tragic and fatal accident when a pedestrian suddenly ran onto the highway in front of our tour bus. Police suspect a suicide,” the band said in a statement on Facebook. “We were left with a driver that has been severely shaken up by the accident and a bus too damaged to continue onto Tulsa.”

The group said despite the accident, they tried continuously to get their gear and instruments to their next destination on the tour, but ran out of time and ultimately had to put the performance on hold.

“As much as it pains us to miss a show, and we truly apologize for it, we’d like to stop and acknowledge that a man has lost his life. Please keep him and any family he might have in your prayers,” the group said. “Thanks for your support, and understanding.”

The band is wrapping up playing shows in the U.S., and heading to Mexico, Chile, and Argentina as part of an international tour.
