After missing the playoffs for the first time under head coach Claude Julien, the Boston Bruins will seek redemption in their 2015-16 campaign, led by new general manager Don Sweeney.
The team has unveiled its 82-game schedule for next season, opening at home on October 8, in a 7 p.m. tilt against the Winnipeg Jets. The B’s face their Original Six rival Montreal Canadiens just twice at home: at TD Garden in their second game of the year, and on New Year’s Day at Gillette Stadium for the Winter Classic. The remaining three meetings will take place in la belle province.
If drafted second overall by the Buffalo Sabres as expected, North Chelmsford native and Boston University phenom Jack Eichel will return to TD Garden for the first time since falling short of the NCAA National Championship there on December 26. Ousted general manager Peter Chiarelli will return to the Garden with his Edmonton Oilers—and projected No. 1 overall pick Connor McDavid—on December 14.
