It’s a Good Time to Hop on a Plane out of Boston

Because you can take advantage of flight sales.

If you thought you had enough of air travel during the holiday season, think again. It’s sale season in the travel industry.

It’s not exactly a popular time to take a vacation, which is part of the reason why a few airlines have announced deals on trips within the U.S. If you resolved to be more spontaneous in the new year, you’re in luck.

Spirit Airlines might understand the pain of transitioning to hats, coats, and boots. They’re offering $73 round trip tickets to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina if you can squeeze in some sand time between January 19 and February 9. The catch: you have to buy your tickets before January 8.

Southwest also has a few noteworthy “Goodbye 2015” sales, although they’re only on one-way tickets. Flights to Austin, Texas are going for $109 (where you can put your healthy eating resolutions on hold for BBQ), Atlanta, Georgia for $131, and Indianapolis, Indiana for $79. Other destinations include Columbus, Ohio, Dallas and Houston, Texas, Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

JetBlue ended its two-day winter sale yesterday, but keeping an eye out for more flash sales from airlines might not be such a bad idea.
