An FBI Employee Allegedly Pointed a Gun at Woman Inside a Hingham Restaurant

The incident occurred at the Gourmet Garden Restaurant.

An FBI employee from Massachusetts was arrested after an incident involving a gun at an area restaurant.

According to WBZ, James Doyle of Duxbury is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman’s head at the Gourmet Garden Restaurant in Hingham on Tuesday night.

While no one was injured, Doyle was allegedly intoxicated and sitting inside the bar when police arrived on the scene. Hingham Police said he was registered to carry a gun and knew the woman involved in the incident.

Doyle was arraigned in court on Wednesday after being released on Tuesday night. He’s expected to face charges of disorderly conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon, and being a licensee carrying a firearm while intoxicated.

According to the Boston Globe, an FBI official in Boston said that the agency is fully cooperating with local police as well as with the Plymouth District Attorney’s office.

“The FBI takes allegations of misconduct very seriously,” special agent in charge Harold H. Shaw said in a statement. “This matter has been referred to the FBI’s Internal Investigations Section in Washington, DC, as well as the Department of Justice’s Office of Inspector General. Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, we will not comment further.”
