Maybe it’s all those weekend warriors on their way to the Cape. We compared the average daily traffic volume per month at one point on Route 1 and Route 3, and found that South Shore motorists have a much tougher ride—with nearly twice as many vehicles on the road in the summer. That’s double the potential for weaving, honking, merging-without-signaling drivers.
