The body of a Boston University student has been found in a dorm room on campus.

The student, whose identity has been withheld pending notification of his family, did not live in Kilachand Hall, where he was found. A resident assistant notified police around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the university.

“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with immediate family and friends who will, of course, be deeply affected by a sudden loss,” President Robert Brown said in an email to the BU community.

Boston University Deputy Police Chief Scott Paré said the student’s death is not considered suspicious. Kilachand Hall, formerly known as Shelton Hall, is home to students enrolled in the school’s Kilachand Honors College.
