Police: Suspect Took Own Life After Shooting in Cambridge

One victim was taken to the hospital.

One person is dead after a shooting in Cambridge on Thursday morning.

Cambridge Police responded to a report of gunshots around buildings on Third Street and Charles Street. The suspect involved committed suicide after injuring one person during the incident.

Cambridge Police spokesman Jeremy Warnick confirmed to Boston.com that no other suspects are believed to be involved and that the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to posts on Twitter by WBZ reporters, the incident occurred when a disgruntled ex-employee returned to his former workplace.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Update Thursday, April 7 at 10:40 a.m.: Police spokesman Jeremy Warnick confirmed to the Boston Globe that the shooting was “a former employee who did shoot at a coworker.”
