Massachusetts continues to rack up the superlatives.

Not only is it home to arguably the best teams in sports, but we also have the most prestigious universities in the world, the best medical school in the country, and we’re one of the top states for working moms.

Now Massachusetts can boast having the most popular governor in America.

According to a new survey from Morning Consult released on Thursday, Charlie Baker narrowly edged out Maryland’s Larry Hogan as the most popular governor in the U.S.

The survey found that Baker has a 72 percent approval rating among residents in the Bay State, while only 16 percent disapprove of him. Only 12 percent said they were unsure or didn’t know about the Massachusetts governor.

The results were based on responses from more than 66,000 voters from all 50 states which were taken between January until early May.

Baker’s approval rating numbers are higher than any other governor in the New England area.

New Hampshire’s Maggie Hassan pulled in the second highest approval rating among New England governors with a 56 percent approval rating, while Vermont’s Peter Shumlin came in third with 55 percent.

Rhode Island’s Gina Raimondo only received a 41 percent approval rating and Maine’s Paul LePage pulled in a paltry 38 percent.

The lowest approval rating numbers of any governor in New England went to Connecticut’s Dan Malloy with just 29 percent. He was also found to be the second least popular governor in America, almost edging out Kansas’s Sam Brownback, who has a 26 percent approval rating, the lowest in the nation.
