Drivers in Boston might want to take a chill pill.

According to NECN, Boston came in fifth on a list of cities with the worst road rage, which shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone who’s ever driven on Storrow Drive during rush hour. Being one of the top 10 cities with the worst traffic probably doesn’t help much either.

The study, conducted by Expedia, surveyed more than a thousand people to see what their biggest driving pet peeves are, as well as which places have the “least courteous” drivers.

New York came in first place on the list of cities with the worst road rage, while Los Angeles came in second, followed in order by Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston.

Portland, Oregon was found to be the “most courteous” city, narrowly beating out Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota.

As for the most common type of bad driving behavior, the study found that 80 percent of people behind the wheel have witnessed a fellow motorist weave in and out of traffic. Dangerous speeding was cited as being the second most common offense.

Survey respondents named “The Texter” as the most aggravating type of American driver for the third year in a row. Since Massachusetts and other states are cracking down on people who text while driving, hopefully texters won’t top the list next year.

Expedia also discovered that, when it comes to “most offensive” behavior by passengers, 61 percent of those surveyed called out backseat drivers.
