Dunkin’ Donuts Might Make Its Triumphant Return to Newbury Street

The city's licensing board will hear plans for a new location.

Newbury Street is awash with coffee.

Its eight stately blocks are already home to two Starbucks, a Thinking Cup, Pavement, Wired Puppy, Barrington Coffee Roasting Company, and a Nespresso boutique, and that’s not even counting all the places that just happen to serve coffee.

And yet, no Dunks. That could soon change.

Next week, the Boston Licensing Board will consider plans for a Dunkin’ Donuts at 270 Newbury Street, between Sneaker Junkies and the Fairy Shop. The proposed Dunks would have 16 patio seats, and its hours would be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Dunkin’ Donuts previously occupied a space at 333 Newbury Street near Newbury Comics and Mass. Ave. That location closed in 2013.
