An Astronaut Posted a Picture of New England From Space

The outline of Cape Cod is crystal clear.

During his time at the International Space Station, NASA astronaut Jeff Williams tweets quite a bit.

Instead of criticizing the quality of space food, though, he tweets out breathtaking photos of Earth from space. From auroras dancing near Australia to glaciers in the Canadian Cascade Mountains, Williams’ photos are retweet magnets.

On Monday, he posted a photo of New England, depicting Rhode Island, eastern Massachusetts, and a crystal clear outline of Cape Cod.

“Good morning New England!” wrote Williams, and the retweets rolled in.

As of Tuesday at 9 a.m., the photo of New England had received 645 retweets and almost 1,200 likes.

One Twitter user quipped, “Even from space #WesternMA doesn’t exist!”
