Teen Stabbed in Neck with Golf Club Shaft in Wakefield

The 18-year-old is expected to survive.

An 18-year-old in Wakefield suffered life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the neck with a golf club shaft during a confrontation at the Breakheart Reservation, State Police say.

The man was airlifted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.

Police received reports of a fight at the 640-acre reservation around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Because Breakheart is a state park, State Police were requested. Upon arriving at the scene, troopers found the victim suffering from a stab wound.

“This appears to be an isolated incident between two parties known to each other,” Lt. Steven Skory of Wakefield Police told WCVB. “There is no danger to the public.”

State police arrested Curtis Day, 18, of Beverly, Tuesday night. Day is expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
