Ah, Providence: land of intergalactic funk, Guy Fieri-approved Italian food, and Danny Amendola’s ugly carport.

The Rhode Island capital was ranked the most fun city in New England, according to a new report by personal finance social network WalletHub, good for 23rd nationwide. Boston failed to crack the top 50, falling to No. 73. If Tom Menino and Buddy Cianci were still alive, this might have reignited their war of words.

The compiling its list, WalletHub compared the 150 most populous U.S. cities using 51 metrics across three dimensions: entertainment and recreation (number of public beaches, sports venues, festivals, and ice cream shops per capita), nightlife and parties (time of last call, number of dance clubs per capita, open container laws), and costs (average beer and wine prices, cost of living, number of affordable restaurants).

Providence had the fifth-most dance clubs per capita. (San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Orlando shared a three-way tie for first.) The least fun city in the country? That’d be Oxnard, California.
