Get well soon.

Though he’s getting up there in years, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara remains the proud owner of one of the most feared slapshots in the National Hockey League. He’s a five-time winner of the hardest shot competition and holds the record for the fastest of all time: a blistering 108.8 miles per hour.

Standing on the receiving end of a six-ounce disc of vulcanized rubber traveling this speed, as any doctor will tell you, is not medically advisable.

Massachusetts State Police trooper Keith Segee dropped in for a practice skate with the B’s Tuesday afternoon, and soon learned this the hard way. The Revere native, who appears to have logged two games with the Salem State Vikings in the mid-Aughts, had to skate out of the crease to regain his composure.

Almost two years ago exactly, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson found himself in a similarly painful position.
