Watch: A Huge Fire Burned Three Boats in Charlestown
$1 million in damages but no injuries after the late-night blaze.
A fire ripped through three boats in Charlestown Tuesday night, sinking two of them and causing an estimated $1 million in damages.
Fire officials say they received a call for a fire on the water at around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday. The flames appear to have spread from one boat to two others nearby. BFD and MassPort crews spraying flames from a boat and a ladder extended over the harbor fought the blaze until just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. There were no injuries.
Video captured at the scene shows the intensity of the flames raging on the Constitution Marina.
