In a Bruins Hype Video, Tom Brady Says “We Are Made for This”

He joined forces with Zdeno Chara in a one-minute rallying cry.

The Bruins are off to a victorious start in their quest for the Stanley Cup right now, and credit for that accomplishment of course goes to this team. But also, we suspect, some very compelling words of encouragement from Mr. Too Many Championships himself had something to do with it.

We’re talking of course about Tom Brady, who lent his voice to a hype video for the team over the weekend. It seems designed to hit Boston right square in the feels, and while we can’t say for certain that’s what gave the B’s the competitive edge last night in their 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues, but it certainly didn’t hurt.

Still here……. #MADEFORTHIS

“We are shaped by our environment. Molded by our decisions,” Brady can be heard saying in the minute-long video, which begins with a clip of a young Bostonian lugging hockey gear on a bike, then cuts to a montage of moments from sports history, scenes of Bruins gear found around the city, and images from inside TD Garden. “We are made from triumph and failure. Pain and glory. But we remain determined. Because in Boston, we expect more. We set the bar high and fight for every inch to get over it. Here the destination is part of the journey. And we’re not done yet. We’ve been here before. And we’re still here.”

The video was shared on Instagram by defenseman Zdeno Chara, who, at the end of the video, says in unison with Brady, “We are made for this.” In an earlier reply on Chara’s Instagram account, Brady also used the hashtag #madeforthis.

Bruins fever is of course sweeping the city right now. Thousands turned out for a concert and viewing party at City Hall Plaza Monday night, and even the Arthur Fiedler statue is getting in the mood.

So are Chara et al channeling the GOAT this time around? We can only hope so.
