Mission StatementXaverian Brothers High School, a Catholic college-preparatory school for boys, cherishes its identity as a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School. Drawing on the traditions of the past, living in the strength of the present, and preparing for the needs of the future, Xaverian Brothers High School is a community of faith and learning that is committed to developing the integration of spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, emotional, cultural, and social dimensions within each young man. Through participation in academic, extracurricular, athletic, and campus ministry programs, a Xaverian graduate will be prepared to meet the demands of higher education, to contribute to society, and to answer the call of Christian service.
Teaching PhilosophyThe philosophy of education at Xaverian Brothers High School is firmly rooted in the mission, traditions, and values of the Xaverian Brothers. Teachers are responsible for more than providing a strong academic education for students. They are also called to help each young man demonstrate respect for all, share his individual gifts through service, possess a knowledge of self, and make informed and mature moral decisions grounded in his faith. They achieve these academic, spiritual, and character-building goals by forming enduring, respectful relationships with students, modeling the Xaverian values of humility, faith, simplicity, trust, and zeal, and delivering curriculum that actively engages the students in the learning process by offering age-appropriate lessons that serve diverse learning styles. Teaching and learning at Xaverian is geared to the specific needs of adolescent boys in order to create an active learning environment for each young man.
