More Photos of Kevin Bright’s W Penthouse
At the top of the hub, the living room offers dramatic views of our changing city. At night, mechanized shades can be deployed to create a black box, perfect for movie-watching. The custom bookcase in the foreground has a stained white oak on the exterior and a glossy orange lacquer finish inside. The sectional is “Harry” by B & B Italia.
Peng took advantage of the unit’s quirky layout to create intimate moments, including this small seating area and bar, complete with an exquisite Spark six-foot gas fireplace with a marble slab surround. The lounge chairs and ottoman are by Flexform, purchased at Showroom.
The meditation room features custom millwork in walnut designed by Meichi Peng Studio, a facing sofa by Flexform, and a rolling ladder by Bartels.
The master bathroom includes an Elise freestanding tub from MTI whirlpool, a Kohler ceiling-mounted tub filler, and an electro-static glass wall that turns from transparent to translucent at the flick of a switch.
Bisazza mosaic tiles cover the powder room walls and floor, highlighting and Antonio Lupi “Xilox” freestanding sink. Throughout, wire-brushed fir wood doors by Herrick and White run eight-feet, six-inches high.
Custom shelving in the meditation room, along with glass doors, contain Bright’s impressive collection of LPs and ephemera.
In the master bedroom, speakers are relegated to high art when the woofers and tweeters are integrated into the custom built-in cabinetry.
A solid steel dining table by Van Die Stel was purchased from the Conran Shop in the UK.
Varenna kitchen cabinets, acquired from Showroom, complete the look, topped with Blue de Savoi countertops from Cumar.
