As an architect, Catherine Truman believes that a light fixture can make or break a space. So when she came across this Moooi pendant lamp, the Cambridge-based founder of Catherine Truman Architects knew just where she’d want to put it: suspended over the modern conference table by the Danish company HAY in her new office. Inspired by its namesake Heracleum plants, the lamp—with thin, stemlike conductive branches and leaflike, movable lenses—is a whimsical take on the classic chandelier. Truman admires the fixture’s inherent modernity: “It’s complex but not complicated.”
