The farthest portion of East Cambridge, North Point, was once a quasi netherworld wedged between Charlestown, Route 28, and the CambridgeSide Galleria. Twenty20 aims to up the area’s residential appeal. The 21-story, amenity-laden tower from Bozzuto opened in June; now its top-floor penthouses are ready to rent.
“This is the rare Cambridge address where you can walk to Charlestown, or Kendall Square, or the North End,” says building manager Christina Fantone. Waterfront North Point Park is nearby, too, and the building fronts a half-acre of parkland.
Twenty20 offers a mix of layouts ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, topping out at $7,700 per month. You’re paying for prime selfie opportunities: Corner apartments have panoramic views of Boston, the Charles River, Charlestown, the Zakim Bridge, Cambridge, and Somerville. Unlike the rest of the building, penthouses feature hardwood floors and Bosch appliances. Many units have floor-to-ceiling windows and walk-in closets.
For those who favor smaller spaces, there are “flats”—loft studios from 423 to 655 square feet, with almost-12-foot-high ceilings—sprinkled throughout the property and ranging from $2,290 to $3,015.
The biggest draw? More than 8,000 square feet of shared amenities, including a two-level gym with a regulation half-size basketball court, home to private training and boot-camp sessions (as well as possible pet-adoption fairs, Fantone says).
For the nonathletes, there’s a Restoration Hardware–outfitted social room with a bar, a pool table, walls of TVs, and a wraparound balcony; a private library with a fireplace; an indoor courtyard with a fireplace; and a roof deck with sweet skyline views.
