Two New England Beaches Were Ranked the Best in the Country
Right up there with a handful of tropical spots in Hawaii, two New England beaches ranked in TripAdvisor’s list of the top 25 beaches in the United States.
Ogunquit Beach in Maine and Race Point Beach in Provincetown represented the region. The sandy shores of Ogunquit, Maine ranked at number 15, four spots higher than the beach at the tip of Cape Cod.
Reviewers praised Ogunquit’s rocky coastline and long stretches of white sand. A resident of nearby Wells admitted it was one of the “cleanest, prettiest beaches anyplace.”
Others spoke of Race Point’s beautiful dunes, its bike trails, and its seal-spotting possibilities. At number 19 on the list, a few reviewers noted Race Point was even enjoyable in the wintertime.
“We most recently visited Race Point on a blustery winter’s day and enjoyed walking the beautiful beach enjoying the sense of ‘remoteness,’” wrote a reviewer from Westchester County, New York. “Truly a great place to visit on the outer Cape!”
