It’s definitely a skinny house, clearly a tiny house, and seemingly a spite house. At 966 square feet, this narrow structure in Revere is one-of-a-kind. Located on Roughan St., wedged behind a nearby house on Noble St., the uniquely angular home was built in 1960. While it certainly looks like a spite house—a house built out of ill will to upset a neighbor—there’s no evidence to confirm it was built to block beach views or annoy family members. Both units in the two-family home span the entire length of the building, and they include wrap-around porches and an abundance of windows.
Don’t be deceived by the price tag, though, because the skinny house needs a lot of work. At the moment, it won’t pass muster for Federal Housing Administration loans, Veterans Affairs loans, or conventional home loans. It will be sold as-is, and won’t be open for inspections or appraisals.
