Newbury Street is the center of all things upscale and high-end in Boston. So it’s no surprise that the most expensive home sale of 2016 so far is a Newbury Street residence.

Perched above Chanel, unit 3 at 6 Newbury Street (dubbed No. 6 like Chanel’s signature perfumes) sold for $11,480,000. First reported by Curbed Boston, the sale is one of the largest in the city’s history, though Boston.com notes the Millennium Tower penthouse purchase will probably come out on top when its sale price is revealed.

The ultra-luxe condo is a single floor and is one of six residences in the building. It has four bedrooms, four full baths, and two half baths. The living area overlooks Boston’s most famous shopping thoroughfare, and floor-to-ceiling windows offer glimpses of the Public Garden. There’s also a wine storage area and direct elevator access.

The unit was sold as a shell (read: empty). It’s been on the market for almost a year and was originally listed for $12,950,000.
