First-time homebuyers across the city have their eyes on Roslindale. It feels semi-suburban without being too far removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown. There’s a good mix of single-families and condos as well as ample green space (like the Arnold Arboretum). Plus, the diverse community has plenty of shops, eateries, and an impressive weekend farmer’s market.
So it’s no wonder home prices in Rozzie continue to climb. But if you’re still planning to flock there with a young family in tow, you’re in luck. Real estate data firm NeighborhoodX has identified the 10 cheapest properties for sale in Roslindale.
While looking at affordability in major U.S. cities, NeighborhoodX has been pinpointing the most affordable market-rate properties in Boston’s neighborhoods. The recent Roslindale analysis excluded short sales, foreclosures, and income-restricted properties.
Roslindale’s least expensive properties range from $132,600 to $399,000. The cheapest is a one-bedroom condo on Seymour Street. The most expensive is a compact unit in a well-maintained home on Belgrade Avenue. On a per-square-foot basis, the asking prices range from $148 per square foot to $432 per square foot.
For comparison, Jamaica Plain’s cheapest condo on the market asks $349,000—almost comparable to Roslindale’s most expensive listing. Looking for a bargain of your own? See complete list below.
