Living in a barely affordable city makes it especially painful to ogle at elegant condos for sale on Comm. Ave. Scrolling through those photos of expensive digs is oddly addicting, but what about houses on the other end of the spectrum?

Instead of offering a peek into some of Boston’s most expensive homes, real estate analytics firm NeighborhoodX has done the opposite. A new report compiles the 10 cheapest condos for sale in Boston—they range from $114,900 to $169,900. Granted, almost all of them are one-bedroom units, except for a couple of three-bedroom condos that need renovations.

Unlike price tags that ask upwards of $1,000 per square foot in Back Bay, these homes range from $140 per square foot to $233 per square foot.

“Just looking at listing prices, the most affordable apartments for sale right now seem to be clustered in the neighborhoods south of downtown Boston—Dorchester, Mattapan, and Hyde Park,” says Constantine Valhouli, cofounder of NeighborhoodX. “Notably, Roslindale doesn’t have an entry on this list.”

The area that appears on the list most frequently? Hyde Park. It’s the city’s southernmost neighborhood and offers four properties for less than $145,000. The cheapest condo of all is an apartment on Clare Avenue in Hyde Park asking $114,900. The most expensive is a $169,900 unit on Ferndale Street in Dorchester.
