Roche Bros. Is Giving Away Free Bouquets in Downtown Crossing

Time to "petal it forward" across Boston.

Charge up your Wednesday with flower power. If you find yourself at Downtown Crossing for lunch, you may be handed two bouquets of flowers—free of charge.

Roche Bros. supermarket is giving away 2,500 bouquets to random pedestrians. It’s all part of the “Petal It Forward” campaign. The idea? When a Roche Bros. florist gives you two bouquets, you pass on the second one to anyone you wish—your beau, the marketing intern, or a complete stranger.

It’s not just Boston. The Society of American Florists and florists across the U.S. will hand out flowers in 234 cities in all 50 states. According to Wellesley-based Roche Bros., people report the best reason to receive flowers is “just because.” So head downtown, get a floral mood boost, and give someone else a smile.

The Roche Bros. florists will start spreading the joy at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 11, in front of their store at 8 Summer St. in Boston, and in the Downtown Crossing pedestrian way.
