Once dominated by a working-class Irish Catholic population, South Boston has seen an influx of young professionals and families over the years, and with it, new, high-priced housing stock. The neighborhood’s turn-of-the-century multi-family buildings are now divided into sparkling condos—plenty of which are on the market right now.

In short: don’t expect to find any real estate bargains in Southie this season. The cheapest homes hover in the $475,000 range, while South Boston’s most expensive residences shoot past $3 million.
